I attached a brass snap connecter to my python and it does really well to suck up the crud but when filling the tank back up it leaks from the threads and sprays water everywhere, a whole lot of it too.

Did I not put it on tightly or maybe too tightly?

Or is this normal? I hate placing towels over the python and getting the towel drenched over and over

now how come nobody added that fact when everybody says "pythons are great"
and also why doesn't it say on the little bag the snap connector was in?

i need some other opinions.

i have a brass adaptor on mine so i don't want to strip the threads by twisting it on every week. and i can't leave the pump on since i gotta use the faucet.

works great...as in no snap connector or with a snap?

check to make sure ya threads are lined up properly. it shouldnt spray. i have had my python a year and i do weekly water changes on 2 tanks never have that problem unless the threads r not matched up properly. hope it works out.

do you all use the snap connector?

none of you sound like you do, and i do which is possibly causing the problem.

also it says not to twist the thread too tightly, is it because it will get damaged?

Only had that problem when i caused the problem. Whether it was under tightening, or over tightening and messing up the (plastic) threads.

Sometimes the piece that threads to the faucet/brass adapter partially un-threads from the main "pump" part causing a spray though.
