Ok, so I finally wrestled it and did my tanks alls looking good and clean. I swear my fish are smiling :D

However, when I'm done and I have water trapped in the 50 feet of tubing. What is the secret to getting the water out and not spilling it? I tried to leave the gravel vac in the water and then pick up the hose and walk back towards the connection in the kitchen sink. Well that didn't work :screwy:. Then I took the gravel vac off, wound the tubing as I was walking back towards the sink, water started spouting out. I unhooked the connector at the sink and it flung around like a wild snake whipped out of the sink onto da floor emptying the rest of the tube :irked: What gives?? How can I easily empty this tubing? Oh, and how can I clean it, there's some crap/algae inside the tube...or should i just buy some more? I'd pay someone like $20 for da damn directions. This has been quite the experience. But dang it I'm gonna overcome the challenges:headbang2

You guys would have laughed your tails off if you could of seen me trying to operate this thing the past 2 days :nilly:

While you have the water still running walk the hose from siphon end to the sink and the biggest part of the water will come out , there will still be a lil but not much .As far as the algae goes ive never had that problem soo sorry i cant help there. It took awhile for me to get the hang of it but it gets easier

Put the valve thing on drain, have the water running and roll it up while its draining the water from the hose. About the algae, just keep the hose out of the light when you are done, but the algae in it won't hurt it at all.

Ok, well I turned the water off that's the problem then. Will try that next week. I'm assuming it's algae, it's black . It came with the tank I purchased. I keep it in a black trash bag.

I just roll it up as I walk from the sink to the tank.Have to hold it higher than the tank though.

Well I did that (kept the other end connected to the faucet) and as I got close, the water sprouted out the end I was holding. Then I unhooked the connector but when i moved the hose the part that was connected to the sink flung out of the sink and spilled water all over da floor. What am I doing wrong?? lol

haha others mentioned the solution allready, but maybe it will make more sense this way...just pull it out of the water when your done syphoning, leave the sink on, and slowly walk it back raising the tubing higher than the sink.... so that instead of it pulling in tank water, it will now pull in/syphon the air instead (just like a vacuum cleaner does), effectively sucking out and emptying what water you have left in the piping. When done emptying, shut off water and disconnect. Thats what i do.
Hope that helps
