i get it all the time.... fill a 5 gallon bucket with hot bleach water and let the python suck it out.... instant clean sanitized python

what's your ratio of bleach to water? and i assume it needs to be rinsed multiple times

you can make your own python for less than 1/2. most LFS that carry pythons carry their faucet adapter for around $7. then all you need is tubing from home dept for around .50 a foot.

there you go, works exact same as a python since your using their actual part. instant python for much, much cheaper

exactly way cheaper and you can customize the lengths.

I've been using my 50ft python for 13 years now. Gee that makes me feel old. So far had to replace 2 parts, plastic got old and cracked possibly got smacked around a bit the way I roll the hose back up trying to leave the least amount of water in it.
I actually wrote them a few years back asking if there was a safe way to clean it or if I would have to replace it. Yeah the initial price is a bit of a shock, but after all the use I have gotten and how they handled me writing them. I my Python and gladly recommend it! They could have been jerks and blown me off (like another company I shall not name), or told me to just buy a new one. But they sent me cleaning directions!!
Here is their response.

PLEAE READ THROUGH THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE BEGINNING YOUR CLEANING.​

After prolonged use of your No Spill Clean and Fill Aquarium Maintenance System, you may notice a buildup of black algae inside of your tubing. This algae is not harmful to your fish but can be cosmetically unappealing. If you wish, it may be safely removed by following the cleaning instructions below:

1. Hook up your No Spill as if you were going to clean your tank.
2. In a CLEAN bucket (that has been used for fish only – NEVER had any detergents in it), mix 1 part chlorine bleach to 3 parts water. Place the bucket with bleach mixture in it into your sink basin and position it directly underneath the pump assembly that is attached to your faucet.
3. Move the on/off switch to the on or open position and turn on your cold water. Place the gravel tube into the bucket with the bleach mixture. You will now be sucking and draining into the same bucket. As you suction the bleach mixture through the unit, it will drain back into the bucket in a diluted form.
4. When you have the tubing completely full of the bleach mixture, turn off your water and close the switch, holding the bleach mixture in the tubing. Leave the unit sit for approximately 3-5 minutes.
5. Repeat step 3 and continue suction until tubing appears clean. Turn off water, dump and remove bucket.
6. Push up on the pump as if you would be filling your tank. Turn of your cold water and thoroughly flush the unit into sink drain for at least five minutes.
7. When done, reverse flow on pump and drain out your unit as you are coiling it up. Put unit away and keep stored in a cool dry place that doesn’t see sunlight.

OMFG you paid $125 for a python?!?!?!?!? why? its just a hose!! my LFS has the 50ft for $49.99 and I thought that was ridiculous.

An even easier way, just buy the python faucet pump for like $8 ($40 if you go to petco) and hook up a garden hose to it. Voila, a python for less than $125!!!

They have a really really really great auction and no one was bidding. I paid 8 dollars for the holder even though they are cheaper and pythons went for 20-40 dollars for the 50 foot.
