Ive read in previous posts that you guys drain the water into the backyard. Can this be done without the suction from the faucet? I'm wondering if I could drain a tank without wasting water

I bought a huge gravel vac, 24" long 2" round with a 1/2" ID hose. Just move it back and forth in the water, it starts siphoning itself. Make sure the hose is already out the window and walaa! Oh yea, I cut the end off a garden hose and stuff the clear hose in there. It does'nt take long to drain 100g's.

I drain my python to the basement utility sink without the faucet. Its a little bit slower but you don't waste all that water. I only use the faucet to fill it back up.

I drain my tanks outside, just start a regular syphon. It drains my 75 in about 20 minutes.

The best Tree and Shrub fertilizer around.
