Python water changer

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here is the adapter that comes with the Python. View attachment 1429578
You can see there two different sets of threads. One for the old style faucets (outside set of threads). And one for the new style(inside set of threads). When its new it has another white rubber washer hiding the inside set of threads, thats also the seal when using the outside set of threads.
I don’t remember that coming with mine, I’m pretty sure I had to order mine. Also has anyone had trouble with the adapter getting stuck into the faucet? Sometimes mine gets stuck and I can’t get it out.

I love it for fills, get the hook or make one out of PVC. Cleaning sucks though, especially if you have a 50+ model. Such a water waster honestly.

I got my Python within the last year, must be a new addition due to so many places changing over to the low flow pipes.

The sticking has to do with thermodynamics. It's getting too hot or too cold and expanding, I forget what one does what HS was 30 years ago, causing it to stick. Run the water the other way for a bit to return it to normal.

After you get the siphon going you can turn off the water and it will still drain, to save water.
I disconnect the hose there at the valve and water the outside plants with my tank water.

That’s a really good idea, I have a shower head with a second handheld head, I bet I can hookup to that connection

I just wanted to add that if you will also be using the drain feature of the Python in the shower, you will want to rig up some hose from the shower head adapter to Python drain/fill valve as close to the 'floor' as possible to facilitate draining the tanks.

I got the 50’, my house is a big L shape and I have tanks in every room, the wife isn’t happy about that lol
In the same boat, how many extra feet of python would one recommend for ease of use.

Ie; my tanks are 20ft from my sinks would the 5 extra feet be enough or should I go for the 50 for fill only?

I haven’t received mine yet, but I always prefer to have more than not enough with most things
