Python with pond pump

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So I purchased a strong pump that took a 1.5 ID hose. I took a look at the hose and thought it was so wide! I decided to test draining the tank with just the hose and wow, it took 2-3 minutes to drain 20% of a 240. Needless to say, I'm returning the pump and keeping the hose.

Also, luckily, the hose fits snuggly into the circular cut out on top of my acrylic tank, so don't need to worry about propping it down.

I’m a little late to this party bit this is what I use.

The first 6’ is a 1-1/4’ converted to 25’ of my python tubing. I just turn off my fx6 plug this into the return and let it rip. Then I have hose from my tap filling it at the same time.
