Wow... 50% water changes on a 300 gallon tank? Thats a lot of work but then again, this hobby entails a lot of work.

Let's see photos of that tank!

I do the same. Every 4-5 days I change close to 50% (I try to get it, it might go a lil past sometimes...)
Im ganna do a H20 change today and Ill post some pics up on Monday.

If you are curious about what my set up looks like, here it is
8'x30"x2'

These are old pics and all old fish I dont have anymore.... 3 Tats (8-9"), Aro (9"), Spot Gar (13"), 4" Juruense Cat (still have that guy:D)
Sizes were correct at time of pic

Its actually not a lot of work. Its fairly simple (for me atleast). Id say 15 min to clean all the droppings and pic a spot to let it drain while I do other stuff. Maybe 20min to drain then bring in the water hose and fill er up slowly so the water temp doesnt mess with my current stock to much... maybe 20min....+or-5min;)

The perks of being bare bottom... Great looking tank bro. Hopefully I'll have a monster like that in the future. Hopefully twice as big...

NICE! Where do you get that at? LFS?
I never knew it came in powder. Im very interested in it. Can you possibly post a pic. My LFS has trouble understanding what he dont have, so I need to show him pics then he can give me results:D

I don't have a camera but here is a link to one online source of it. Seachem calls it Safe instead of Prime but it is the same chemically (just in concentrated powdered form).

I use a python now so the work isn't too bad now. I used to do the bucket brigade with over 60 5 gallon pails per week (the bathroom is 100' from the tank). I can now tie my shoes without bending over.:D

I don't have a camera right now but I'll see if I can borrow one from work.

I run a couple of large diameter siphons out my back door into the garden to drain...and I run a garden hose from a utility sink to fill.

I use prime but the other, more concentrated chemicals work great.

Here's an old picture of the tank and 60 gallon sump just after I repainted the tank inside and out as well as the metal stand. No water or fish yet (I need a camera!).
