The company that owns marineland actually bought tetra. They also bought another company, and bio-spira has been re-released under two names, one is tetra, and the other escapes me now. Supposedly they did not change the product. Bio-spira has always been shelf stable for a time being, but at some point they discovered it has a very long shelf life.ewurm;2012082;2012082 said:Tetra bought Biospira and relabeled it "Safestart". It is no longer a refrigerated product and supposedly is shelf stable. This means that Bio Spira is no longer useable. It's junk, just like the rest of the off the shelf cycling products.
