Queensland is a large area. A total of 1 723 936 sq km. It's hard to fathom that 75% of our state has been declared a disaster zone. And there's more to come.

I hear that tomorrow is going to be a particularly bad day...

My thoughts and prayers are with you guys!

You and yours, are you guys safe?

We should be right here at our place although the Logan river is very close to us and is still rising. We have a creek/drain behind my back yard which joins directly to it but it's not expected to get as high as the Brisbane river thank god. I would hate to be anywhere near the Brisbane or Bremmer River. I was at the doctors today with my daughter and while I was in the waiting room, a gentleman got a call about his family members being stranded on their roof. Apparently his place was outside of the predicted flood zone. My heart just broke for the guy as I watched his face go white and panic mode set in.

Wish we could all help.

Keep us posted, please

Doing fine here (4053), little bit wet and boggy but can't complain. I would not want to be anywhere near the Brisbane river either, its deadly fast and rising all the time, all day the news have been showing footage of boats smashing against the go-between and other bridges, big water drums, fridges, pontoons, floating restaurant etc.

Just heard the death toll is now 13, 43 people still missing and the brisbane river is said to peak at 4am. Its bloody heartbreaking and has got to be far worse than in 74.

Went shopping today , had a tough time getting what i needed due the shelvs being mostly empty, no bread, no milk, no eggs etc. The floods are meaning supermarket chains cant get new stock in and people are panicking, trying to get whatever they can, trying to stock up.

Greenterra, whats it like up your way mate?

Luckily we are at the eastern end of Logan Motorway. We were a little worried as the Logan river flooded severely in the 74 flood, including where we are but it seems its catchment area didn't receive the same deluge of water as the Brisbane river catchment did this time. To think not so long ago, we were in drought with the Wivenhoe Dam near empty.

Queensland is a land of extremes hey. Poor farmers were in trouble for years becouse of drought and now they are going thrue it all again with the floods. Queenslanders, nature can knock us down but it cant keep us down.

Been reading news about the flooding especially in Toowoomba. Disturbing when I saw pics of the raging waters like an inland tsunami. This reminded me of the horrors I encountered two years ago. I still remember well the AC members tried to reach me after hearing the news and I could not get access to phones and internet for a week.
