QUALITY MIDAS??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have actually seen some beautiful fish pulled from canals(not Florida) but feral midevils. They have been introduced for about 30 yrs in my area and are quite common. Not that I would compare your F1 midas, but none the less visually attractive. As kids we used to catch baby midevils, Chinese catfish(Clarias fuscus), tilapia and dojo loachs and use them for live baiting peacock bass(Cichla ocellaris). Aahh, the good ole days.

I'm sure the Florida Midevils can be very nice but I shy away from hybrids and heavy inbreeding of species... I'm not being big headed about this but I always looking for new blood in my Firemouth population and I can confidently say there is 0% inbreeding there and 100% pure strains amongst my other fish.

I went from a bulb that wasn't full spectrum to one that was I notice that the colors look different. The orange and white on my amph were more defined from each other if that makes sense.
This picture is with the full spectrum bulb.

I think your specimen will show deep orange reds once its settled into its tank. keep the water perfect and feed it quality foods and you'll notice a difference....
