Howdy,

How long do you all keep new fish in quarantine? I've never had the luxury of a quarantine tank before. But since the goldfish from my pond will spend the Winter in my little tank in the basement, I used it for my new butterfly fish before the goldies move in :) . The butterfly fish look fine and eat well, they've been there for a week now.

Thanks,
HarleyK

I try for 10 days at 82 degrees to hatch out any ich spores if they have them.

10 days is good yeah....keep the temp warm also, like guppy said. 82 to 84 optimal...add an air pump and air stone....increased circulation as well. I keep my quarantine tank semi brackish to help fight the ich better if it does break out. The smaller the quarantine tank the better though....with in reason...20gal is an ideal size.

I quarantine new fish for about a week in a small tank with a corner bubble filter. Some salt is added to the water as well.
