Does anyone know how much a full grown, unsexed species is going for these days? (I have one, and am interested in selling it to someone who is breeding). BTW, it is wild caught. I just want to know what people have been currently paying for theirs.

Typically, the pectoral fins are the easiest way to *guess* sex. The males tend to have much spikier odontodes on their pectorals, while females have nubby pectorals.
Here's an article on sexing zebra plecos (L46), but they're both Hypancistrus so I'm assuming the clues are pretty similar.

Thanks guys! This is all really helpful. I'm going to pull 'her' (and a couple other) into a different tank and grab some photos.
They go for quite a price.
Females fetch HIGHER prices than a male... I still have a wild caught male that I wanted to breed and could not get my paws on any females. People buy them young in lots in hope that at least one is a female. (I just have too many hypans species right now to be able to grow out any L260s) as some hypan males are too aggressive with other males and will kill other males
150 for a wild caught male for sale in my area.
I wouldn't be surprised if people are willing to pay 500-600 bucks for a proven wild caught pair.
I'm willing to pay upwards to 200 bucks for a female though thats why I don't have a female as its cheapstake me

I'm getting a 30 gallon tank together (with seasoned filtration) to it in tomorrow. I'll be able to get some good photos when I move it.
If you still have your L260 I am interested. Where are you located? I want to start breeding Hypans. I don't have any L260's yet so at this time the sex of your fish is not important to me.
