Quest for Channa Marulioides LFS

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
teeth are as maruliodes in that pic , but every thing else shouts marulia. it is maybe the fact that some marulia have the same rounded teeth that maruliodes has but we just do not relise it yet.

i have only personally checked inside of the mouth of indian marula and pseudomarulia and both of those posess the pointed standard maruilia teeth pattern.

real shame we do not know the true locality of this specamin

cheers col

Yea its a shame we've no idea of the origin..

Another thing I forgot to mention is TDS should be kept below 100 for optimum result.

Thanks for the reply, I read back some of the thread, that India Spec you get those vicious teeth, this pc has very very fine blunt teeth, nothing of the obvious

I've sent the pic to a fren of mine whom are fish exporter n breeder for 20 years, he too gets confused, according to him the long slender shape makes it look like marulia, the white spotting also says marulia, but the head and pattern look maruliodes. But he is leaning more to Thai spec maybe some remote area which isnt familiar.

Any chance this is a cross bred?
It's different from Thai marulia everything. All spec of marulia that found in Thailand and SEA not like this spec. Don't forget a lot of variety of marulia from south asia too. In case of cross breeding, I don't think so.
I think I found marulia that look like this spec (except head shape) in LFS in BKK last week, size 16" but I don't interesting and take pic because its body is curve. LFS call it as Indain marulia. I will go back to compare it again.

Thank you for the trouble, hope we can solve the mystery soon.

was at KOK aquarium PJ old town just now, they've a lot of bunga, 6-8" RM8 and 12-18" RM50, quality so so only for the bigger ones,

Latest pic, the finns has grow back 80%, fish is slightly fatter, but very skittish fella, will swim only when no ones around.

anyone interested I'll let go for RM100 same price I got this, you can continue the grooming as the LFS said he might get a wild caught for me by next month when the flood stop in trengganu.

wow!! great recovery ...

so bro, is it still called toman bunga or something else..??

btw, what's the growth rate for this fella?? mine is ard 15-16", with frequent water change & gd feeding, normally how fast do they grow?? any chance to stunt or slow down the growth?? cos mine is kept in a 3X2X2ft tank for now ...
