Is your enjoyment of music by an artist or band effected by their actions in the public realm?

Example - Alicia Keys had an affair with a married man while making her last album. Does it make you enjoy her music less?

Another example would be Kayne West, huge backlash from his recent actions with Taylor Swift. But was it all talk? Still enjoy his music knowing he is a jerk?

Any other examples you guys can come up with?

* This is not about the above mentioned artist but music and artists in general....

Well, I'm a little weird about things, like if my writing isn't perfect in like math, or lines aren't straight, or hair isn't perfect, it bugs me for the rest of the day.


But I don't listen to Kanye and Taylor and all that popular garbage. (;

I have only one of Kayne's song on my ipod and I actually play it when I'm at the gym, but after the Taylor Swift incident, I couldn't listen to that song for a long time. In fact, I just started listening to it again.

And I know Metallica lost a lot of fans after the whole Napster thing, but I still liked them and still do.

It depends on who the artist is... Alicia Keys is a real singer and its hard to not listen to a good song... Cryin-ye West is a fake artist and is easily turned off... plus people with his self esteem in my book are easily over looked.

So I stand 50/50... depends on what they sing I guess (didnt vote cause there was not enough options)

Most the time what people do outside of film or music doesn't bother me but it has before so it is possible but not likely.

if i like the song i dont care who sings it what they look like or what they do. after all its the song that i like not the person. i can careless what there life. but i dont listen to a lot of mainstream musics. thats why i dont have a fav band. i just like there songs.

the R. Kelly example is better put, I didn't listen to him before hand not my kind of music, but his actions were offensive and disgusting, had I been a fan of him before hand I would have made the decision to not listen to him afterwords. Look at Woody Allen, this scumbag went on to make a children's movie, after he slept with and ending up marring his own daughter. I don't really care if someone cheated on someone but pedifiles should be tossed in a wood chipper, or at least should not be in a position to be walking around free and making tons of money living "the life"
