I think it really depends on how serious their offense was, and how good their music is. I would never listen to Kanye, just because I hate his music. But if someone had some really good songs and did something bad, I might still listen to them. People still listen to MJ, and his personal life was not really something to be proud of.

I used to be more concerned about that sort of thing than I am now. For a long time I wouldn't listen to the Rolling Stones because I thought Mick Jagger was a jerk. I haven't changed my mind on Jagger, but I eventually realized I really like the Stones, so I'm going to listen to them anyways. I even listen to scumbags like David Allan Coe. Bad people can still make good music.

I think it depends on what that artist really stands for. You can look at rap as a whole for this topic. A lot of the most popular rappers have been locked up for doing various crimes. Is this something they stand for? When they rap about it they talk about if they change but sometimes they really dont, they rap for the money.

This is why i listen to music with a meaning behind it and someone that supports this meaning. As tupac said "the only thing ive been locked up for was hitting someone with my fists" Now i am a tupac supporter and have all of his cds and his common theme is to increase the peace amongst the younger people in america..."before we find world peace, me gotta find peace and end the war in the streets"

As long as people stand for something and DONT contradict what they stand for in their music, image and what they do, then i dont have a problem with a minor incident that has happened.

You see this happening in everyday also. I know a guy that sells various drugs but is clean with drugs himself. He freaks out on people he knows if he catches them doing the drugs, but he is the one selling drugs to other random people....

What do you really stand for?

Being a jerk is very different than being a home wrecker or raping little girls...

Another example is Chris Brown. He should be arrested just for his music much less beating women.

50cent collaborating with justin timberlake kills rep but I still enjoy his music

yeah i still listen to stuff even if i think the writers are a bunch of asses

napster never stopped me from listening to Metallica, but the 3 crap albums they made leading up to that did

its not the attitude of whose making it its the quality of the music

haha, didn't know people still listen to all that popular garbage

ill stick with real music as far as that goes i don't have to worry about the artists being d-bags because most aren't

but ill still listen to some mainstream stuff and if the artist is a jerk, he probably won't end up being one of my favorite artists, but i won't stop listening to them
