Question about a barter with the lfs

I'm upgrading from a 75g to a 125g tank. There is a great lfs I have been talking to. He agreed to trade me store credit for my 75 and asked me what I was thinking as far as price. It's just the tank. Is $2/gal a reasonable rate?

I doubt they would give you .50 a gallon on trade.

Around here, used equipment has little to no value.

Trading for livestock may be a better option.

2$ per gallon on a used tank only? That's I pay 1.75$ a gallon on full set ups all the time. A store will give you 30-50$ but maybe around your area they are generous

highly doubtful they will give you anywhere near $2/gallon. Especially when they can get it brand new for much cheaper from the factory.
