I have a line on a huge female. She looks to be a lower grade ZZ. I would say a B at the max. The guy wants US $100. for her. I can't post a pic because it's his and I don't have permission yet. Do you guys think she is worth the price? Second question is my male is only 9-10 inches himself. Do you think he could handle breeding with her?

Well, how big is the female? As much details as you can remember about the fish would help me a lot of picturing what the red ZZ female might look like.

Well that is up to you, we can't see what she looks like but I would buy her. Depends on how bad you want her.

I think he could handle breeding with her BUT you have to seperate them first until they are ready to spawn. But some will get along, some won't, it's all trial and error.

Oh yeah, i had a brain fart. She is 10 inches according to the guy selling her.

THE ANSWER IS HELL NO!!! NOT WORTH IT! Bro if you want a female and you have the money PM me. I will hook you right up!

You can ask and flowerhorn breeder, 80 - 85% of females become extra aggressive when breeding. If your female is bigger than your male and this happens Im sure you know whats going to happen to your male. If you dont its called death. However you dont have to take my word for it, you can ask around... IMO taking that chance is not worth alone is not worth it. Even if you have them divided, dividers fall. Luckily I have proof on video. My male was 12 inches, female was 7 inches., watch what happens. The think what could have happened if my female was bigger than my male.

Bro I really appreciate you giving me some info. I was hoping you would chime in. I read what you post in a lot of Flowerhorn threads, so I know you know your stuff. I have been reading up on FH breeding, so I figured it was a no go. By the way you have PM.

Breeding isnt hard. However have any of them ever breed successfully yet? If not you should ask the people with experience.
The male has fathered two batches of fry. He killed his mate after the last one, under the previous owners care. I have years of experience with breeding cichlids both old and new world. This is my first time breeding flowerhorns, which is why I want some advice from some of the people on here, that I know have a lot of experience.
