So Im currently doing a growout of all new fish in my 155 gallon, then the fish will be placed in my 300 when I grow them out a little bit.

So I was at the LFS the other day and they had some very nice looking baby silver Aro's, my question is will I be able to put one of the babies in the 155 to grow out with the rest? New to Aro's and didnt find an exact answer when I searched. The Aro's are all about 5-6" at the LFS.

The other stock is

1 baby Oscar- 2-3"
1 baby salvini- 2-3"
6 RH silver dollars, there actually the largest inhabitants
1- pictus cat- about 3"

i think it should be fine but becareful of the oscar may try to stress the silver and idk whats a salvini so idk

Thank you,

I was thinking if the Oscar does start to stress it leave it in the 155, move the oscar to the 75 for the time being.

Anyone else have any insight good/bad idea?

hmm i suggest just remove the tankmates til silver is 8" or so then add em in if you like to be on the safer side

A 2-3" salvini is not a baby, at 4" it will be the dominant fish of the tank. I wouldn't put less then a 10-12" silver with your stocklist.

is a salvini an aggressive cichlid?

Yep, like a Jaguar, but smaller and nicer looking. What'd I do would be throw some other 2-3 inch American cichlids. They'll be so busy with other they won't even notice the aro in a 155 gallon.

ah i see
