I just found a chip in the bottom of one of my side glass panels in my practically brand new tank. Here are some pictures. They're not the greatest, as it was hard to snap a good one due to location.

Now here's the kicker - I reached down in there to feel the chip and it appears to be between the pane of glass. You cannot feel the chip from the inside OR outside of the pane. Anyone experience this before? Is this something to worry about?

Hello; First question is where is the tank located? If it is in a basement on a slab the potential for big problems is much less. If it is on a wood floor in a living area of the house or above a crawl space/ basement then a failure can become a bigger problem. How big is the tank?

I guess there are two panes of glass somehow stuck together?? If not then I guess it is a flaw in the glass from when it was made??
How new is the tank?

My tank is a 170g that's on hardwood floors in our living room

I'm not sure what you mean by two panes stuck together, but the location is towards the bottom silicone in the center of a side panel. Tank is brand new, purchased in October of 2017.

I had a 65g with a small corner chip I pUT water it, let it sit for a month and no issues. About 6 months after setup I was at a wedding and when we came home we came home to 60g of water all over the floor.
I had a 75 and it had a chip it's still up and running it's 20 years old chip in sameish spot on both tanks.
It's a toss up either way.

Hello; Even a tank with no visible flaws is a risk. One with a visible flaw is a bit more of a risk. Some flawed tanks last for many years. I have had only two tanks flood out, a 120 and a 55 gallon. The 120 let go in a basement on a slab with a floor drain so that was less of a problem. The 55 let go in a living room on a wood floor. That was the loss of the tank and floor damage in the form of a stain.

OK I see what you're saying. From what i can tell, it is a single piece of glass which is why I'm so confused by how this chip happened and why I cannot feel it.
More then likely you have a chip on the edge of the glass not either of the "flat" surfaces. It was probably there when the tank was built.
