I have one 2.5" albino cory and one 3" emerald cory cat. The emerald cory likes to follow the albino one and touches it alot, so I'm just wondering if the two of them could mate and produce offspring???

if it is physically putting it's mouth on the other catfish, it is eating the body slime, which leaves the fish vunerable to disease...

I have 13 cories, and have never heard or read or witnessed anything about eating each other's slime coat.

The albino cory is actually a bronze cory, and isn't the same as your emerald. I don't think they will actually breed, but they might be confused or lonely.

However, the main problem, IMO, is that they are schooling fish, and groups of six are more not only feel more comfortable and are more active as a result, but are much more enjoying and fulfilling to watch.

I'm not sure what size tank they're in, but I would add at least two more of each type.

oh you haven't seen my cories... constantly on the move in a big battle... until feeding time. Everyone shares...

No. It does not.

If they are in a T position they are trying to breed. During breeding, the female will mouth the vent of the male. Cories donot suck slime coat off one another- or other fish. I've had them for years and even bred them. Bronze and albinos can breed for sure.

Kool! I'm thinking about getting three different types of Cory Cats in the 55 with my Mollies so I kinda hope they make some babies... =)

Yeah they are as easy as heck to breed. The fat ones are females full of eggs. The males will chase the females all over and try and get in front of her and nudge at her face with their bellies to incite her to breed. If you want the eggs to hatch you have to remove snails and any fish that are in there. Even cories will eat the eggs lol. We did this a couple times and NO LIE came out with 200 babies!!! :WHOA:
