question about EBJD

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well you problemwould be that the frontosias are from the rift lakes and like hard water with a high pH and your EBJD is happier in low pH and soft water. since these are known to be pretty sensitive so i personally wouldn't. i'd give it it's own 55 or something with a little less big fish.

if you absolutely have to, they would probably both be ok with mid level pH and hardness, as long as neither is much bigger. but i wouldn't recommend this either

The Blue Dempsey would be far better off with Fronts than with GTs & Jags...

Although the Front tank doesn't sound like an ideal situation either...

Dempseys are Central American (Yukatan Region of Mexico to be specific) and the waters of this region are more of a neutral PH and slightly hard... Blue Dempseys are an aquarium strain and have been for a few decades. I've heard of both keepers and breeders having success in a very wide range of parameters...

Mine moved from the very acidic & extremely soft water in Charlotte, NC to the alkalinic & fairly hard water of Metro Detroit without any problems and have bred wonderfully in both situations...

If your Front tank is buffered to differ from the SA/CA tank then naturally you will need to slowly acclimate the Blue Dempsey when you move him.

thats because yours was a tiny baby ebjd, hers is a 6in adult and will be fine unless she has a huge endli or something but then none of the fish would be safe lol

No monster bichirs in this tank, the monsters are in a different tank:D

Everyones doing well together and hes definitely happier in this tank...he even comes up to the front of the tank now to say hi to me lolz

Guess your right just thought I would give her the heads up. O yea that fish is still alive with that one eye. Seems to be doing good.
