at what size do fh fry get red eyes? is it the same for kamfa? does a red eyed kamfa take longer to be fertile. i have red that it takes up to 3 years for kamfa males to be fertile and i was wondering if it was all kamfa or just the white/yellow/orange eyed kamfa. my fry are fh x bp. they range in size from 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch right now and none have red eyes. any info from anyone who has bred these two fish together would be appreciated. thanks.

Theres no size restriction, it can happen at anytime. I have had fry that have red eyes at one inch. Most Kamfa/King Kamfa are iinfertile. White eyes does not mean the the FH is absolutely infertile, there's just a extremely high chance that they are. I believe its like 90 to 95% chance that they are not fertile. Did you order some fry? Post some pictures bro.

these are crap pics. i should have wiped the glass first. i just moved them into this tank yesterday and water dripped from the net. anyway, here are some pics. they are texas/fh x bp

Nice cookie monster thermometer! Don't know what to tell you about the fry. Just let them grow out, it's the only way you'll know. I've purchased flowerhorns with white/purplish colored eyes and they've turned red later. You'll have to raise them to adulthood to determine whether or not they'll be fertile.

my daughter picked it out. i think we were at petsmart when we got it. they also had dora the explorer and elmo. the only problem i had because of it was that my daughter was 2 1/2 when we got it. she thought that thermometer meant that it was her tank. she decided to feed her fish by herself. she dumped full containers of food in that tank about 5 or 6 times before i finally convinced her that she should only feed them with my help. a full container of flakes is very hard to get out and cleaned up.
