I fianly got my red fin pickerel in the mail on Wednesday but unfortinitly he has some bad fungus on him that looks like cotton. I got some medicine for him and I have been adding that to the water. He doesn't seem to move much just swims around the bottom. So does anyone think that fungus will kill him before the medicine takes effect?

Thats sucks man. Sometimes fish develop a fungus during shipping, due to stress and water quality.Depending on how bad it is you should be able to treat it. Post some pics on here of the fish. What type of medication are you using? Also add some aquarium salt to the tank.And keep up on thorough water changes. I would also contact Paul at sachs and let him know what happened.

Yea, after the treatment is done, do water changes and dont forget to remove any chemical filtration you may have, such as carbon

Ok, if that doesnt work, I have always used Fungus clear made by jungle. They are Tablets and work very well. The stuff you have, if im thinking of the right stuff is in a blue bottle and smells like icy hot right? I ahve used it once and didnt like it, but it may work for you. Best of luck!
