Hey y'all! I was wondering if a Flowerhorn long term could go in a 55-gallon tank with 1 Striped Raphael Catfish. I'm going to make the assumption that most people will say no, but I'm just curious.

If bought as a baby you can keep in there for about a year or so but you might have to upgrade to a 90 soon after, unless you go short body Flowerhorn then you can probably do a 75 gallonHey y'all! So flowerhorns aren't good long term in a 55?If bought as a baby you can keep in there for about a year or so but you might have to upgrade to a 90 soon after, unless you go short body Flowerhorn then you can probably do a 75 gallon
I would say no , they get to about 10 inches pretty easily and pretty fast also, and the standard 55 is only 12-13 inches wideSo flowerhorns aren't good long term in a 55?
depends if you are getting male or female, adult or juvenile. you can find a small adult male, since these fish are hybrid and genetics vary. a 8 or 9 inch adult male perhapsSo flowerhorns aren't good long term in a 55?
What if the Raph is raised with them from the beginning?75 is generally considered the minimum for them - they get big.
Even a raphael is at risk with one - they don’t play nice with anything.
i have seen a flowerhorn multiple times in a community tank. shouldn't bother a still laying armoured raphWhat if the Raph is raised with them from the beginning?
Not worth the risk if you like that cat more than the flowerhorn. What if the Raph is raised with them from the beginning?
Yeah, agreed. Not worth the risk if you like that cat more than the flowerhorn.
