I agree. But I did have a Goldsaum years ago that was up there in aggression...a real glass banger that kept the other fish at bay. He was mixed with RD's, Jags, and a larger Saxitilis Pike. He owned the tank...To this day, my all time wet pet I've had.
I've tried to find others like him throughout the years and have always been "dissapointed" by how wimpy they've been...needless to say, I gave up.
Its funny you say that for me its been quite the oppisite. The males I have raised and bred have been really mellow and kinda like you I'm like wow these guys aint really much of a terror at all. But then I recently bought a female white saum to breed with my big red saum male. She came with a couple white saum juvies and one turned out to be a male. Let me tell you this guy is pure evil!
He was like 2.5 inches and smoked 5 of my full grown green barbs. One by one picked them off.. Now this isnt my first rodeo with green terrors. I have successfully raised males in a community setting before no real issues besides maybe them chasing and nipping. This little new white saum male is pure evil.
