my measuring skills suck , not use to measuring in inches i went and got a ruler the RD is more like 2 1/4 it will only be in there for about another week, or until the new tank is done cycling, hopefully the 125 will fit in one of the cars or else they are getting the 90, i mean why not get the 125 for an extra 40 bucks.
i use to work at a bottled water place and they had a sailfin pleco 7" and a common pleco about 7.5" in like a 30 gallon tank along with about 50 or more guppies that were always reproducing and the plecos were about 6 years old at least and lived in terrib le water conditions. obviously they were stunted but still seamed healthy , how long could you expect a fish like that to live? i know they can live 20+ years in better conditions.
also i check water parameters in both tanks and they are good, no amonia or nitrites and nitraes in the 37 were about 15ppm and like less than 5 in the five gallon. so i think its the tank sizes that will stunt them hopefully when i put them in the new tank they will grow at a faster pace. they are still growing just not as fast as they should but i hear the cichlids slow down quite a bit after 5-6 inches maybe thats all thats happening maybe im just paranoid.
oh well another week or two and they will have more room
I plan on getting 2 ac 110's they are gonna be dirt cheap, im going to put extra bio media in one and purigen in the other along withe the sponge carbon and biomedia
also any ideas for decoratiing it? , i was thinking black gravel with a black background so you can see the fish better and also i need lights . right now i have a fairly dim light for them it makes the GT alot nicer to the convict but that wont be a problem anymore, i want to get a glass top and power glo strip lights they seem to bring out the color really good. i dunno what ill do inside the tank probably just move over their current decorations for now.
