checkout roseline sharks. I have 4 in my 85 that are 7 years old and around 7 inches a piece. They have excellant color and swim all over the tank and apparentlly don't get really large. Very peaceful fish also.
I love those sharks. frustrating that theyre so pricey...

My personal rule of thumb with larger fish (10"+) is you ideally want a tank that's based on the length of the fish and go 5-6x that for the length and 2x that for the width of the tank you keep them in. You could do a little less than that, but for a four foot fish that's still insanely large...

When I google "roseline shark" I get pages of "rummy nose tetra".
Is that the same thing?

If so, my local petsmart has them for 3 bucks each

No, rummy nose tetras are a tetra from south america, roseline sharks are a barb from India, scientific name is Puntius denisonii.
