Question About Paraneetroplus Breidohri

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They are very slow growers and big eaters. They are the most hyper of any Paraneetroplus that I've kept ... and that's most of them. And they can breed small and young. Mine start to color up at around 3". Actually when guarding free swimming young they take on a high contrast black and light gray color. Provides a convincing "back off" message to tank mates.

You have to be patient with them. What you have there is the start of the coloring up. My female was flat out silver, then started to get that purple sheen. They seem to do everything slowly except eating lol as you have noticed. I found that they also grow in spurts, nothing, nothing, then almost overnight they put on an inch. Hope this helps!

I agree 100%

Isnt it supposed to be Paratheraps Breidohri ?
Not any more

This thread makes me miss my old guy...I sold him at 10"

The fish above is turning white and pink, like my pink Fenestratus. Does it have to go through peeling to look like that? How old is the fish to get that hump?

It looked white because of the sunlight from the window next to the tank, but was really a pale blue.....not peeling and That fish was probably 1.5yrs old but had his hump at 6in.....Here's a couple of cell phone pics that might better show his coloration
