i have been using purgin to remove tannins from drift wood in my tank and it make sthe water crystal clear....my water has started to look not as crystal clear so i am about to recharge it but i am a little freaked out by soaking in in bleach. how can i tell when the bleach is fully rinsed out of the purgin and it is safe to put back in my tank?????
does this stuff also remove nitrates??

Don't mean to derail or anything but can you use it in a sump like you would ceramic rings or bio-balls?

I've heard of people using it in their sump. Nothing, however, will be as effective as using it in a fluidized fashion.

You need to soak the purigen in bleach until it is white, and then rinse it well with tap water and then soak it in water with a dechlorinator like Prime for like 8 hours... there should be no "bleach" smell before you put it back in the tank.
