question about rosy barbs

Google infusoria (and green water). Feed by slow siphon drip over a gentle airstone until the fry are large enough for baby brine shrimp.

I feed my rosy barb fry infusoria for a few days until they're ready to take bbs. Usually it's about a week until I can see their mouths.

Ok the rosy barbs are in a 15 gal tank now. I made 3 yarn spawning mops. the rosy barbs are going at it almost the same time each weak.

How do I know when to take the rosy barbs out of the tank so they dont eat eggs? The barbs will push each other through the mops and then they will stop for a bit and get side tracked and then do it again. They have been doing this for the past hour now.

I think I have seen an egg fall from the mop when they swam through it. It was very very tiny and it sank faster then food does.

Well they have stopped and are now ignoring one another. So I moved them back to the 20 gallon tank.

Is there a way to collect infusoria from a pond near me? The pond has a ton of tiny floating plants near the shore. Is it possible to collect those and put them in the tank?
