  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i will just get it back up to 8.3ph before i add it to the tank tonight.

going to pick up live rock on the way home.

how do u guys measure your salt? do u weight it?

i think my salt mix calls for 1.5lbs per 5 gallons. to get sg 1.024

Best thing to do is get yourself a hydrometer. takes the guessing out of mixing salt. and you can be sure that it will be the same salinity each time you do a water change.

i do have a hydrometer. u still need to be close with the amount of salt u mix not to overdose and have to dilute.

what i meant was , like 2 cups=1.5 lbs. or 2cups=2lbs.

I just take frequent measurements as I go along. You could get a small scale and go about it that way and get close, but I would never advise you to base it off of volume.

Volume is bad because the salt compacted more then the last batch, it can have a greater moisture content, or you could have voids within the measuring device itself.

Just my two cents.
