hey everyone i was wondering what the difference, if any, is between Perfecto Manufacturing silicone sealer and All glass aquarium silicone sealer and which would be better.

Perfecto:

All Glass Aquarium:

I ask this because my 75 gallon has a minor leak on the bottom and i want to reseal the whole tank.

Also, would 1 10oz tube be enough to reseal the whole tank?

Thanks

prettymuch the same.. different packages and prices.. but basicly the same..

my guess is you have not done this before... so for less than $5 a tube id go ahead and get 2 tubes.. dont forget painters tape and razorblades..

thx chester. ive been researching a lot but the one thing that i could not find is which silicone to use...everyone seems to have a different opinion about it.

LoL I've never thought to use painters tape. Every tank I've resealed, I've sealed without tape. lol

Do many of you use tape?

I forgot to add to make sure you do NOT get GE Silicon II, it has a stuff in it that kills mildew and fungus, not good for fish.

GE Silicon I is great I have used it may times. Just make sure you get old silicon off and then rub it down with alcohol and apply sealant. I would let it dry for 72 hours. Some times I have heard 24 hours is enough but I prefer 72 hours to be safe.
