I was thinking something along the lines of a Bolt catfish, or lima shovelnose in that tank.
But still think an endli bichir would be cool also.

there won't be any "keeping an eye on it".....simply put, one day you will be an Arrowana-owner and one day you won't. You'll never see it happen until it's too late, as with all Oscars and big catfish as well. Thanks I appreciate the advice. I'll keep an eye on it and if there is any issues I'll make some arrangements. I had a two inch peacock bass to that I had to put in another tank because he was being the bully which is just strange because the other peacock's I've had never caused any trouble.

They will eat something several times bigger than they should. I had a 6" Oscar eat a 4" albino African-clawed frog and the hind leg didn't fit in his mouth, so he swam around like that for the next day until he digested the 1st half and then finished swallowing the leg when he had more room. Oscars can grow 12" in less than a year, possibly moreSo I take it Arowona's grow very slowly? I know oscars get big quick, but for one of them to be able to eat him would mean the arowona doesn't grow hardly any.

give them some time.....it's not a matter of "IF", it's a matter of "when".I've got two in my stock tank that are well over a year old now and they eat everything but nothing that's similar in size.
