Question about stingray venom.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So what is the typical treatment? Clean, close, and ciprofloxacin or something like that?

Yeah, It's much worse then pain

The real concern is not the venom.....it is the bacterial infection that can follow.

Treatment in the ER does nothing for the venom. They will just make sure that the wound is thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and sewn.

I would be willing to get stung...in the name of science. And it kind of sounds fun.

If you're volunteering, I'll suppy the ray. His last shed barb was 3.75" long. Still sound fun? LOL:D

I am also very curious to know what it's like, but from Matt's description, I don't think I will follow my curiosity to that end.
