Question About Substrates

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah, they're quite addicting. I love my Leos...really glad I have them as they're now quite close to impossible to get out of Brazil.

Here's an update and some acclimation pics! The dynamic spotted duo was moved to the new tank last night:

Obsidian (male):

They're happy as can be and are both zooming around like crazy. We went with all black sand for them. I'm hoping the male will finally start to mature sexually now that he's in larger surroundings. Next step after this tank is one that's 48" wide!

Something that really stinks was that the new tank was a mess up on glasscages' part. They didn't leave any room on the back to hang anything (the 3" glass rim goes all the way around), which made it impossible to use any hang on filters and difficult to even set up the canisters we ordered specially for that tank. They gave us some difficulty at first (even though the demo picture they have on their site shows what we thought we'd be getting and the tank we purchased from them a while back of the same size was what we thought we'd be getting), but finally gave in and said they would give us a discount on our next tank purchase. Anyways, we purhcased three Rena xp3's for the tank and had to build the intake pieces ourselves with home depot tubing because the ones that came with the filters wouldn't even fit over the rim of the tank! What a pain in the arse!!!
