question about the Green Cabomba Plant

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well stem plants do not really have a "ROOT" system, like a Sword. There are some tiny roots, but still can very easily be pulled up.

I have had a couple of Cabomba plants for about 4 months. They don't need a root system to grow. The roots develop near the bottom but at least in my case upper part of the plant grows and the lower part tends to die so the place the roots grow keeps moving up the plant. BTW how do you have your plants anchored?

Had a Cabomba forest in my 42g angel tank. Mine developed roots quickly, The roots in the gravel were more while there were only less roots dandling mid-water and these were just straight.
You can brake these of and let the plant live just of the graveled roots,or just leave it be. Either way you have to prune them at least 2ice a week once their established otherwise they'll starve the lower portion of light. Mine put out runners just above the substrate and so multiplied and ancored themselves all-over the tank.

under the right conditions they develop "roots" quite quickly, where I work we had a shipment of cutting come in and the tank their in is less than ideal and they showed signs of roots in about 2 weeks
