Question for any bird enthusiast...

funny you should put it that way. will you consider yourself a murderer after you've shot them for foraging?

Attacking and killing, not forging and sure why not if it makes you feel better. I guess im a murderer everytime i go fishing too so yea why not. Im a murderer. But im not killing anything bottom line. I just wont get another female bird would be the easiest solution since they dont seem to care about the male. Im also moving him. Like i said the point of this post wasnt to find a solution it was to share a odd bird behavior with hopes someone on bird knowledge could shed some light on why said bird would be so aggressive.

Best solution put your cage inside a bigger cage with electric wires everywhere just make sure your cage or birds don't touch ;) and a off/on switch so when you change water, clean etc.

Check out pictures of Loggerhead Shrike

I bet the mocking bird has a nest near by. They will attack ANYTHING if that is the case. Might want to buy a better cage and move the location of the finches.

Its funny nothing bothers the male. I didnt even have to move him. Ill take a pic when i see the bird again. Oh and a mocking bird (which it isnt) would have dive bombed me when i went outside. Theres no signs of this bird unless its attacking. I just find it horrible how it just literally ripped the bird through the tiny bars. The body was just half in and half out of the cage. So gross! Beware of the zombie bird apocalypse!!!
