Question for Jardini Keepers

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Awesome looking fish!!! It's why I want one so badly! I just don't necessarily like having just 1 fish in a tank. So I'm weighing options for bottom dwellers mostly! Thank you all so much for the info!

Sadly my favorite bottom dweller is also one that I know I won't be able to house anywhere near how it should be, and that's the redtail cat.

Edit: I also like the look of "pibald" color morphed baramundi. IDK if I can get them or even keep them in the states as of yet, but from what I have read is they get big and stocky, but are also generally peaceful to other fish (smaller fish usually get ate during feeding).

Another option that I've thought about was possibly peacock bass. But I'm pretty sure there would be an issue there.

why not grow a school of jardini - like what Jennilyn did. She had ongoing success on her batch. I had mine already mature so it's hard for me to add more jardini in the tank.

Jardinis are cool fish and I have no regrets on mine. I even have a few offers to buy this fish off me and Fisheries Agent visiting with a warrant checking on this specimen. But I'm still lucky to own it.

I'm looking at my old thread and it seems it was approx. 3 years now. I'll post some updated pics on that. Just midway changing my tank décor from driftwoods and plants to living color coral sets.

It is an option. The tank size would be the same. Would it work with other arowana species to add some color variation? I'm assuming it would probably have to be the same species due to possible differences in aggression.

I feel like I read something saying this was a new species and not jardini in fact.
