Question for Mods.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree.... what are dogs doing on m F k ? Sure, post some pics or discuss in the LOUNGE.... but ... other than that, this site should be a fish site as it is intended to be. I think?

Same goes with reptiles.... I don't think ANY of us joined to talk about ball pythons, leopard geckos, or pit bulls.

and thats why you are not a mod.:screwy:

People keep amphibions with fish. So they are not allowed to have a section to post? Can a fish keeper not keep other types of animals and are not allowed to talk about it on their favorite message board? I would rather not be a member of more than 1 message board and have to keep track of both of them.

if you dont come in here then dont worry if we want sub forums...jeez

A lot of people on here keep amphibs, and a lot of people love their turtles... put a pic of a FRT on here and everyone loves the cute little buggers. For a lot of people fishkeeping and herps kind of come together. I must admit i'd prefer the subcatagories but at the same time, i'm not sure they get talked aboutnenough to warrant sub-forums at all.

I have to say that I don't mind having a section that you can talk about reptiles but MFK is mainly a fish site and I doubt that if I go to a reptile site that they would have a large fish section..... other then food for the reptiles.

Hope this helps clear things up.

I think it would be different if it was broken down by species of reptile and other exotic pets, but its not. All I am saying is it would be nice to have a small section for reptile only and dog/cat section and these could be sub sections of this main section ya know?

Everybody has some good points here. But I'm pretty sure the first time any of you came to this site, it was about fish. The mods are nice enough to have an "other catagory" about exotics. I would personally be fine if it gets broken up or stays the same. If you don't like a topic in this section, just don't read it. It's that simple.

Maybe someone can create a spin-off site from MFK that focuses on reptiles/amphibians. I agree that many people who keep fish tend to keep reptiles and amphibians, but I also agree that MFK is not the best place to house such a forum.
