i have two question for people who lives in florida.

1. Do you guys catch your own fish as pets since you guys have like p-bass, cichlids, and gars there?

2. Is it legal to take them home even though they are invasive?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't some invasives introduced by the government down there?

i heard peacock bass where.

Say you are fishing and you catch an invasive. You can kill that one fish or you can let it go and watch it kill many and wipe out ecosystems. I'm not a fan of killing any animal either, but better to kill invasives then natives..

I've seen a video of a guy catching a wild oscar in Florida on youtube and I must admit it was pretty cool........

im pretty sure you can take them home. The Peacock bass is limited 2 per day per person

I understand your point of view. However by the time you find one invasive specimen there's a good chance it's one of many. Thus killing a single fish most likely won't put a dent in their population. IMHO you're fighting a losing war, animals are just like human they migrate/misplace into different part of the world. It's impossible to keep them all out of a designated area...just let nature plays its part.
