question for petsmart employees...

when I worked at pet supermarket a lady called and said that her angelfish she bought a day earlier had died, and if she can have her money back, and I told her yes, just bring back the receipt and a water sample along with the dead fish. She then told me in a shocked tone "the dead fish? why I threw that away, how was I supposed to think I should keep it?". I thought it was funny because I wouldn't go to best buy to return a broken camera and when asked for it say "oh no, its broken I just threw it away in the garbage".

if u think about it u cant blame them for not refunding. its like if u bought some chicken at the store go back a few days later and say "hey that chicken was bad, can i have a refund?" where the chicken? " well i threw it away of course" so how do we know u didnt eat it? "ummmm....."

Yea, I don't blame them at all and their policy makes complete sense. My wife blames me and would be so embarassed by me trying to get a refund on this fish that I wouldn't even try. I guess it would be like getting an mp3 player and taking it scuba diving and expecting a refund.

I agree but I find their return policy to lenient.

Though I dont shop there I have yrs ago and people buy fish only to kill them themselves due to terrible care, etc than bring the fish back.
