I have 2 pics in my gallery of a serval. A bengal (or at least what I know as a bengal) is just a large domestic looking cats with broken stripes running down its sides. They are only like 15 or 20 pounds. Servals are between 30 and 50 pounds.

DAMN THAT NICE :grinyes: It looks like one of those wild cats from the forest.

Servals seldom reach fifty lbs, they average about 30 and are geared towards hunting small rodents and birds instead of larger animals like the caracal does. Savanahs are x breeds between servals and house cats. bengals are x breeds between asian spotted cats and house cats. I don't think even the most ambitious house cat would survive trying to mate with a 300 lb bengal tiger. the site I listed earlier is just one of many that sells servals and a lot of the same breeders also sell crossbreeds. A few sites sell caracals which are larger and one site that sells them lists them as, and I quote, " not to be trusted alone with other animals or small children." That just strikes me as funny.

how domesticated are servals? are they usually pretty tame with owners or have there been cases of them attacking their owners?

Servals are good pets and I have never seen any reports of them attacking an owner any worse than a house cat. The freind I had who kept one had kids, housecats, a large bunny, and a small dog, all got along. They had gotten it as a kitten and it grew up with everything. Caracals and lynx/ bobcats are not to be trusted.

i like the ears thats what makes em look the best( in my opinion)

They are fine with other pets until they know they are a serval. you can keep them with house cats with no problem. But once the serval sees another serval, those housecats start to look like prey. But I have found that if they are by themselves (no other servals), they are alright. I wouldn't exactly say tame though. If you get one , you will have atleast a few incedents were it flips out and jumps of the walls, ceiling, or your head. And they tend to be quite distructive in houses. Curtains, couches, walls, and carpet are all fair game.

is a wild one there! should most definitely be off the "hey, i have some extra cash think ill buy one of these..." list! probably more than a few end up as "curiosity" purchases which seldom end up with a good situation for the animal.....
