For people that have "Fish Rooms" or that have more than 2 or 3 tanks lined on the walls, will you put too much stress on the floor? For example, on one wall, I have a 40 gallon against the wall all the way to the end. Next to it is the 75 gallon, then occasionally a 20 gallon is set up next to the 75. I wanted to put the 300 gallon acrylic tank on the wall about 2-4 feet next to the 40 gallon. Here is a pic close to what I am talking about: http://guitarfish.org/images/posts/cca_april2008/cca-2.jpg
To the left on the floor are the 40(starting in the corner),75,20 lined up next to each other. On the middle wall(against the wall also) will be the 300(8 feet long) gallon all the way across with part of the 40 gallon on the wall too. The stand for the 300 gallon is made of very heavy wood. The room is in a warehouse with concrete floors, the walls are steel or aluminum with insulation. Is this too much for the floor?

My house was built in 2000 and I have a 40 and 30 on the same desk right next to each other and a 55 on the next wall. It doesnt seem to be a problem. My house is a pretty standard suburban house. I dont know the the bigger the tanks get the more it might be worth it to research weight and what not.

the good thing about my fish room is that its a room added on after the house was built so its just concrete with a thin covering of carpet over it

Didn't op say its in a warehouse with concrete floors? Even with floor joists it shouldn't be a problem that 300gal, 8' long tank is heavy but it has a wooden stand that spreads that weight out.8' long will span a easy 4-5 joists.plus if its near a wall that's added support.compared to in the middle of a room.8' long n I'm guessing 2' wide. That's 16 square feet to soak up that load.

If it's a warehouse, then your fine (steel frame, concrete floors).

Concrete floor is the best for any fish tanks (I'm lucky, my lower level is all concrete slab!).

My fish room is also a concrete basement with carpet over it.

My fish room is my basement with a linolium covered concrete floor. However I do have a 75gal and a 90gal in my living upstairs, they are on opposite sides of the room though and my house was built in the 1940s.

well im selling my 75 thats in my ketchin and setting up one 29 two 20 longs in my bedroom ( soon to even have a few more 20 longs maybe )

If it's on a load bearing wall.. and you run the tank so it's spanning over support beams. I'de say you deffinatly might be able too. I'de prolly check w/ a contractor ect to make sure. Footprint can also make a difference.
