The only thing that won't be useful in freshwater are the protein skimmers. Freshwater just won't build up a head of foam to skim off like saltwater does. The rest of the setup should work well on freshwater, though it is overkill for most freshwater tanks.
If it has coral sand in it, that will raise the pH too high for some freshwater fish. Rift Lake African cichlids and most Central American cichlids and livebearers are fine with it though.
