I might do one for my 75 gal sometime next week.
Has anyone ever done this?
and they also said that one must do 10 water changes to neutralize the PH cuz of the background, my problem is my 75 gal doing a water change. like wtf, 75 x 10 = 750 gallons. :( and my aquarium is located in the third floor of my house and I use buckets of water to do a WC.

cant I just soak the background in a container and constanly do a WC in that container? will that do the job for the PH neutralization? help pls.:screwy:

If you have fish in your 75 gallon you're going to have soak the background in a seperate place. The idea of soaking the new background is to remove all the solvent residue. If you put it in with your fish first it'll kill them all before you get to your first WC.

thank you very much sir :) I dont really use test kits. Do I need one for this? :screwy:

for the first video, I don't understand why the guy didn't just hose it off and then test the pH after a good rinsing

yes everyone needs test kits
but not necessarily for you're diy background but for monitoring your water parameters

For the price of a test kit I'd use one. but I don't think you'd need to change the water everyday or test it every day. You can probaly start by washing it really well with the garden hose then just letting it soak for a few days before you bother testing.

now my curiousity on test kits, are test kits desposable? or you get to use them again? hmmm? Im really spending on this setup even if I dont know what to put yet.

disposable* -my bad
