Ok I've had my Fonts now for about a month. You can see them in the pic I posted in the other thread. Anyway...i know they belong in groups but I only have two and that's just the way it is going to be. lol Anyway I have one that is a slight bit larger then the other. Maybe by a half inch or so. Well anyway the larger one always forces the smaller one up near the heater. If he/she swims outside of that area it gets chased back. Now they are small right now....the large one being about 3.5 to 4 inches. I also have a Comp in there and another unidentified african. Is this normal or should I think about adding another Front until they grow larger? Thanks in advance.

PS - this is a 65G tank. Eventually I only plan on having the two fronts in there.

I would get rid of one of the fronts you already have. Fronts do best in the colony setting like you mentioned, but since the tank size you have doesn't allow it, I would just stick with one.

I find that 9 times out of 10, if you keep two fronts together one will bully the other.

Adding a third would most likely help, but since you only want two, it doesn't really seem like to good of an option to me.

Would you add anything else or just keep the Front, Comp, unidentified?

If you want my honest 2 pennies.....I say get rid of both....a 65 gal is not big enough for one front or 2.......yes they are small now, but its not a suitable home for either.....You need a larger tank with more hiding spots for them.... Fronts need to be in atleast a trio min. helps break up the bully one and spreads attention....but all in all.....65 gal is not better than a 55......and not big enough to house any type of fronts.....and fronts do best in a species tank only......

yup i agree. it's like living in your beadroom for life. i'd reccomend loosing a front or getting a bigger tank.

god i hate the "tank is too small" talk...

if you want only the fronts, get 1 more, if not get 1 more anyways... when they get too big for the tank, get a new one or sell them

Well, sorry that you hate the "tank is too small talk".......but it is true.....guess you dont want to hear that seeing that you have 5 fronts in a lil tank as well......

Go to Cyphos.com and read up on others proper set ups and tank space.....Why get a fish that you cant keep in the long run.....it's like buying a dog cage the size for a puppy rott and expecting it to be able to get in it in a year.....

I may just keep them for a while and see how things work out with my 120. If I have to I could always get a bigger tank or sell them back to my lfs.
