  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
quick question thinkin bout gettin a jaguar wonderin how big they get and what size tank i should get? Is there any other fish i can put in with it, and are there certain setups i should use? Is a jaguar cichlid and a managuense the same fish ? thanx

jaguar (parachromis managuenese) will get to around 16" or so. you will want at least a 75g tank, but you can always go with a smaller tank and upgrade as they grow. sometimes they get bigger then 16", but sometimes smaller. you can keep them with other cichlids as long as there are enough hiding spaces and decor blocing direct line of sight in the tank. their tankmates nust be bigger then the mouth of the jag, or it will disappear

I have a jag, bought (I believe its a him, blue sheen and all) about three months ago. He's trippled in size. gone from just about an inch to about three inches (alone in a 20 gallon grow out). I'm actually surprised by how fast he's growing. And by how much he eats.

could the lack of growth be attributed to four fish being in the same tank? how big is your tank? maybe there's too much competition/hormones.
