ok so i recently set up a 210 and was soaking a big piece of driftwood in the bath tub for a week or 2 changing the water every other day. then my mom said it looks clear so i droped the piece and a few others that i was soaking with it in the tub. and first few days clear but now it started leaching tamins or watever u call it. my question is how do i clear it up with out doing a major waterchange?
question on how to clear up the water.

Keep soaking it in something else. It could take a long long time for really big pieces to stop leaching tannins. But its not going to do any harm to the tank or the fish as a matter of fact they are SA fish so they'll probably enjoy it.

True, I had plenty of driftwoods in my setup and my water turned tea'ish.. Added carbon in my Magnum 350 and my water was clear as a bottle of Fuji water in less than 12 hours.

One of my biggest fears with driftwood is the constant leaching into the water. I don't know if I could tolerate it long enough for it to clear up.
