Question on Kok shrinkage

I guess my main question that I didn't clarify is - Does the fact that his kok shrank after she laid eggs make it more likely that they are a pair and he attempted to fertilize the eggs? As I said, the eggs aren't fertile. But, I wasn't around to observe whether he fanned over the eggs after they were layed.

50/50. The other 50 is that the female getting protective, thus stress him out a bit

One reason is if they are not the dominant fish or if there is another fish in the tank SOMETIMES there KOK will not be as big. If they are the only one in the tank, usually there KOK will be bigger. True or not, I don't know but it's what I read.

let me get this "straight" (no pun intended lol) the way to get your male fish KOK bigger is to take it out and pump it LOL. i mean i love my fish but i duno if i would pump it.
