I usually have a carbon filled bag, then filter pads. Its usually good to go from coarse to fine on the mechanical filtration related to water flow. And then theres some filter floss followed by the bio media.Question on Media Placement in Canister Filters

And then theres some filter floss followed by the bio media.im using a rena xp3. from the bottom up.. 3 filter pad in one basket. bio star n ceramic ring in one basket and the top one is carbon and ammonia... haha i dunoz why im using ammonia but it in there haha. i am goin to set up my fx5 and im do the same. but since i dont need the pad, im put more ceramic ring and bio star n suchh..
